As a quick disclaimer and note to potential guests, we are a FAMILY ORIENTED neighborhood. We are NOT a party house and have a strict 10pm – 7am noise rule. After 10pm our neighbors should not hear you. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO PARTY and come and go all hours of the night, we are not a good fit for you. Rowdiness, excessive noise, loud music, etc. are all grounds for removal.
Our neighbors are all families who have children. Please be considerate of them and respectful of this rule or you will be made to leave the property immediately.
Self-Check-in – You will gain access to the property via a code entered on a keypad which will be provided the day before check-in.
Check-in time is anytime after 4:00pm
Check-out time is before 10:00am
Available via phone, text, or email – I will be available however is most convenient for you. If someone is needed on-premise, I have a manager within 30 minutes of the property.
If you’re looking to explore, you’re just 11 minutes from the famous Shipshewana, Indiana, known for its Blue Gate restaurant, the Shipshewana Flea Market, unique shops, and the renowned Blue Gate Theatre. Middlebury is only 9 minutes away, offering local dining and shopping, and a charming small-town atmosphere. We’re within minutes of the toll road, making the University of Notre Dame only 40 minutes away, making it easy to attend games and events while avoiding the heavy traffic.
Nestled in the heart of lake country, this property offers a relaxing escape with easy access to local attractions, including Shipshewana, Middlebury, and other nearby communities like Goshen, Topeka, and Nappanee.
Enjoy a slower pace—aka “Lake Life”—at Sunset Oasis, your Home Away From Home, a cozy, updated lake cottage overlooking beautiful Stone Lake. The home’s private lake frontage, shoreline, and approximately 30-foot pier are located directly across the quiet road and are reserved exclusively for your group.
Stone Lake is a peaceful no-wake lake with a strictly enforced maximum speed of 10 MPH. The shallow, mostly sandy swimming area is one of the property’s best features. Even at the end of the pier, the water is typically only about 3 feet deep, depending on seasonal water levels. Swim from the seawall or pier, launch one of the four provided kayaks, explore the lake in the pedal boat, or cast a line from the private pier (no fishing poles provided).
After a day on the water, cook dinner on the gas grill, enjoy a meal on the elevated outdoor deck, or relax in front of the large upstairs windows as the sun sets directly over the lake. With two living rooms, two dining tables, three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and sleeping accommodations for up to 13 guests, Sunset Oasis offers plenty of room for families and groups to enjoy time together.
Downtown Shipshewana is approximately an 11-minute drive away, making it easy to enjoy the area’s shopping, dining, attractions, and Amish-country experiences while still returning to a quiet lake getaway.

The home’s private lakefront area is located directly across the road. The shoreline, yard, patio area, and pier are exclusively for guests of Sunset Oasis and are not shared with neighboring properties.
